Buying a Property During Covid-19 Stage 4 Restrictions - FAQs
It is our top priority to support our clients, team and community throughout this challenging time.
In order to help you understand the current state of play and make informed property related decisions, we have sourced a series of frequently asked questions for your reference.
What do stage 4 restrictions mean for real estate?
During stage 4 restrictions we are unable to conduct any onsite work, which means our real estate office in Essendon is closed with our team working from home. During this time we can only conduct virtual buyer inspections. Please contact our team for more information and to book a time.
What if I have seen a property that I want to purchase?
If you have recently visited one of our properties for sale and are interested in purchasing, please contact our team to discuss your options and how you can purchase during this time.
We can still facilitate contactless transactions during this period and are here to assist you in buying Moonee Valley and Essendon real estate.
Can I still inspect a property?
With stage 4 restrictions in place, we are unable to hold private inspections. However, our current listings include additional photography, property videos and or 360 virtual tours to you.
When will private inspections return?
At this stage it is not clear when private inspections will return. We will notify buyers by email and social media as soon as we receive confirmation from REIV.
How can I purchase a property in stage 4?
If you have already viewed a property you are in a great position, ahead of the market, to make a proposal to the owner. Please contact our team, who will be happy to help you.
If you are yet to inspect a property, you are free to do a 360 virtual tour and can then submit a proposal to the owner, subject to a physical viewing when the rules allow. All sale contracts and paperwork can be completed digitally, meaning you can purchase the property without needing to leave your home.
How is the paperwork managed during Stage 4?
We already use digital contracts to facilitate sales in a seamless manner and will continue to do so throughout this time. You do not need to come into direct contact with anyone for this process to occur smoothly.
If I buy a property can I still settle and move during stage 4?
The Victorian Government has confirmed that settlements can continue and you will be able to move house during this time. Solicitors and conveyancers can continue to work remotely and are able to assist with your settlement.
We will facilitate the process and hand over your keys in a contactless manner.
